QR quality & security
Why test QR codes before use?
A small mistake costs scans — or trust. A quick test run ensures your code works everywhere, quickly and safely.
TL;DR
- Quality: Contrast, quiet zone, size — otherwise cameras won’t scan reliably.
- Content: Target URL, scheme (Wi-Fi, vCard) and parameters must be correct.
- Security: Inspect the payload first, then decide — no auto-open.
3 reasons that save money and trust
1) Technical reliability
Without sufficient contrast, a proper quiet zone and the right size, scans fail — especially in low light or at distance.
2) Correct content & tracking
Wrong or overly long links, broken UTM parameters, line breaks in vCards/Wi-Fi — all avoidable if you validate the payload first.
3) Security & trust
Never open unknown QR codes blindly. Inspect the payload first, verify the domain, then choose to open or connect.
Quick checklist before print & go-live
- Contrast & quiet zone (at least 4 light modules around the code), no crop marks.
- Size appropriate for viewing distance (poster ≠ flyer). No blurring/stretching.
- Validate payload: correct domain/HTTPS, short links, no line breaks.
- Special cases (Wi-Fi/vCard) with real devices: iOS & Android Camera.
- Test print at final size, then do the production run.
